Earthquakes may cause devastating destruction to the infrastructure, but they may not kill the people directly. What kills the people during earthquake is the collapse of structures in which they are living. Our traditional construction of unreinforced load bearing brick masonry, which is brittle in nature, and poorly detailed RCC framed structures are the root causes for the death toll. The masonry with ULTRA BRICKS, with the vertical reinforcement and the infill concrete as envisaged in IS: 4326 is quite ductile. Masonry with ULTRA BRICKS is structurally efficient and earth quake resistant without extra cost and skilled labour |
